Five Fiction Books Every Kid Should Read - continued
67The first part of this Hub
Here we go
As promised, I'll now follow up with the subject of my last hub, by listing paperback fiction books #2 in my list of great reading for kids, considering only the life lessons they offer a person who reads them. Let me remind you this list is not final, nor do I have authority on it as an educator. This short list is based only in my humble reader's opinion. Ok, it's time, let's check it out.
#2 - The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
Now that's a CLASSIC. Forgive the capitals, but I do think they justify. This book, which I bet a lot of you have read as weel, gives kids a lot of tips on what is really important in everybodu's life. The brain, the heart, the courage. Great expectations, and the power of the will. Simply an amazing book for children all ages.
This is a notefor adults: Check out this book's entry on Wikipedia, to know more about ll the analogies people make about the book and the political scene at the time the book was written. It's almost like a 19th century conspirac theory. Very interesting, really.
Which of these two books has more to do with the topic?
See results without votingNow, a little more about the book itself. Dorothy is in a situation every kid has found themself some time. Taken care by somebody who trully loves them, but yet felling misplaced, they still found time and will to take car of people wh they see in a position considered worse then theyr own - and makes real efforts to help those people. Since we are talking about realtions between a story in a book and our own life, I think this is quite a role model. Especially when they hit a wall, and there's nothng they can do - just like when the crue meets the "wonderful wizard" of Oz. Sometimes being certain there's no help, is the best help anyone could get.
I think the best part is they do find a way. It's improvised (which is great), its honest (as it should be), its useless (from a cinical point of view), but it works - and that's what really matters, after all.
The unabridged edition might be a good reading for you, even if you're an adult. Read the book, read it between its lines.
AND NOW FOR THE NUMBER ONE
Exactly. This is the number one book which I think every kid should read. This book gives great lesson about kindness, acceptance, a little of tug love - lol. Understanding the dog's job around the house and the affection it had on the pig is half way through live. The way Pig deals with adversities, always with a positive approach, is also something to be learned. Its wonderful to realize how kindness and sadness sometimes walk along. I recommend it!

I loved Charlotte's Web. In fact, that was the very first novel I ever read in my life! I must have been about six or seven years old.
Thanks for sharing.
